Food Safety

Under the NSW Food Act 2003, not-for-profit groups such as those who run community and recreation facilities, are exempt from the food safety supervisor requirement whereby a member of the group must receive training and become certified to supervise those who prepare and serve food.

If a hirer of the kitchen at your facility is unsure about food safety, you should refer them to the NSW Food Authority and their publication Guideline to Food Safety Supervisor Requirements (PDF).
