Planting and Removal of Trees and Shrubs

You must obtain Council’s approval to propagate plants, or to plant and remove trees and shrubs at a Council facility.

If Council approves the request you must ensure that:

• Only approved trees and shrubs are propagated and planted.
• Volunteers wear appropriate protective clothing, including:
  • Cut resistant gloves
  • Long sleeved shirt
  • Long trousers or skirt
  • Enclosed shoes, such as joggers or working boots
  • A 'broad spectrum' sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) of 30+ applied 20 minutes before working outdoors
  • Enclosed shoes, such as joggers or working boots
• Volunteers take regular rest breaks and rotate jobs
